Cradley, Herefordshire – Conservation Area Extension
Design & Build
Project Overview
Kree8 were approached to design and build a rear single storey lounge room which would allow the client to view the garden in all its splendour.
Our Solution
Kree8 liased with the conservation officer and submitted drawings to Hereford District Council to obtain planning permission & building regulation approval for the extension.
The Architect designed the extension so that it met the clients and councils wishes of it matching the existing bungalow. The overall aesthetics were toned down by the use of matching brick and tile, however the rear feature glazing allowed for maximum viewing of the garden from inside. The extension utilised a vaulted internal ceiling with roof lights to let in more daylight. Although the overall external appearance and materiality were pretty standard the internal space and outlook was most definitely not.
The Result
An inspiring internal lounge viewing space that allowed the client to be immersed with nature from the comfort of their arm chair.
Matt the Architect was involved every step of the way, from developing the design, through to cost, construction and completion, all in budget and on time, before we went on holiday.
