Project Overview
Kree8 were approached to design a unique and contemporary apartment block based in Northampton. The site was constrained in terms of its size and surrounding dwellings. The aim was to achieve a design that had a modern aesthetic in the use of materials, yet was in keeping in terms of mass and scale to the immediated surrounding buildings.
Our Solution
The solution was one that utilised an open plan layout, obtained light from various sides of the building whist avoiding any overlooking issues. The materiality was simple, using a pallete of 3 types timber, brick & render. This combination gave the proposal a coherence and rhythm through the form, crisp clean lines defined the architecture as a whole.
The Result
A design that utilises the plots potential and achieves maximum floor space on plan, whilst keeping within the constraints of a tight site.
